That green lump is the girl playing in the 12-15 inches of snow that we already have, (it's 10:30); and it's forecasted to fall for the rest of the day. Uncle Scooter must be thinking of us and his incipient trip home.
In other news, I did cancel the boys' history class yesterday. I was still feverish when I woke at 7:00, and decided to bag it. I asked the 'Savant to call the families a little later on that AM (one of the benefits of homeschooling is being able to sleep in a bit later than our counterparts) and went back to sleep. I next woke up around 11:00, fever gone, but wondering how many buffalo had stampeded over me while I had been sleeping. Made my way down to the couch, stopping to make PB toast and tea and stayed there for the rest of the day. I did get the kids through their math, spelling, piano practice and then took another nap while they read their history books.
The 'Savant got home from his hardworking day, then made supper, (the teriyaki beef that we were going to make for history class). It tasted pretty good, but I could only eat a little. I recuperated from dinner by lying on the couch and admiring the new hole made in the Boy's mouth by his second lost tooth in a week:
Today, I am sitting on the couch, but am contemplating getting some laundry done, so the healing is almost done.
And lookee, lookee, the 'Savant, having a snow day himself (from Free Geek) has (grumpily) showed me how to upload pictures! If I can remember how, there may be regular illustrations again! Yippee Skippy!

Macs suck
iPhoto only does cropping, no scaling of image size.
I'm sure you're right, but
I didn't buy it. You didn't hear "Honey, I think we need a.. Mac notebook" coming out of my mouth. Not. My. Fault.
I can fix it
Ubuntu will install nicely on it. :P
is that a threat?
so why didn't you do that when you got it?
first comment EVER.
WOW so much snow. I'm jealous. I've never had snow before. It's just too bloody hot around here haha. Is it fun? Somehow I have the feeling that if it snowed here I'd moan for it to go away saying how much I love the sun. Humans are just too weird. Everyone's teeth seem to be falling/being-ripped out these days. Fun! Or not. I don't think I'd ever have the patience to homeschool my kiddies (if I ever get kiddies that is). It must be hard. Not to mention having to remember everything you conveniently forgot all those years ago. Hmmm.
demystifiying a few things
YAY!!! YOU'RE HERE!!! *happy dances* It's so funny that your first comment is on this entry. The aforementioned "Uncle Scooter" is an old friend (from grammar school) who is now living in...Sydney. He's coming for a visit at the end of the month. Small world and all that. The reference to him was because he seemed to have an almost preternatural ability to wish for snow---enough snow to cancel school---when we were in middle and high school. Even the last time he visited, it snowed at an unseasonable time.
Homeschooling, yeah the patience part can be hard sometimes. But thanks to the internet and good curricula, I don't have to remember much; I just have to make things memorable for them. It's a lot easier to do for a few kids than for a whole lecture hall. Saw your latest entry and when I get a mo', I'll have to come over and wax rhapsodic over my uni experience---bet you can't wait.
