I really love the spirit of cooperation, sweetness and reasonableness that has descended upon the house since we got the holiday decorations out this weekend---guess the kids needed concrete proof of the upcoming holidays. I really try to avoid the "better be good or..." threat that is so handy at this time of year, but it's still leaking out via the pop carols we've been listening to on [A Very Special Christmas](http://music.barnesandnoble.com/search/product.asp?z=y&EAN=075021391123&itm=1) CD that is part of our [collection.](http://amazonmidwife.linuxcolumbus.com/node/84) While we were listening to the Pointer Sisters, the girl asked, "What does 'pout' mean?" I get the Parent of the Minute Award for refraining from exploding with laughter after hearing this question from the Queen of the Lower Lip. But, do I lose it for passively enjoying the results of the cultural threat?

Was trying to add to the CD holiday collection last night while doing a little kidless shopping @ Tarzhjay. Here's the exchange with a teenage stocker:
Stockboy: "Can I help you, Ma'am?" (I've come to terms with this title, but it still stings a bit.)
Me: "I'm just looking for some Christmas music."
Stockboy: (taking me to the New Release Under $10 display) "It's right here, Ma'am."
Me: (laughing) "Ive jumped off the popular music train and don't even know who most of these people are!! Don't you have anything for older people?"
Stockboy: (speaking into his walky-talky LOUDLY) "Greenworld, do you have any classical (emphasis his) Christmas CDs back there?"
We wait about 30 seconds eyeing each other. He repeats the request. A semi-intelligeable "Yes." comes through the static.
Stockboy: "They have some older stuff back in the decoration section."
Me: "Thanks!" (biting back the quavering "sonnyboy" I feel like adding.)
So I headed over to decorations and found a nice little CD by Enya that has "Silent Night" in Gaelic. Haven't had a chance to listen to it, but it may be the 2006 Christmas Music CD Purchase. (By the way, 2005 winners were The Charlie Brown Christmas soundtrack, (gotta love the Vince) The Brian Setzer Orchestra's [Boogie Woogie Christmas](http://music.barnesandnoble.com/search/product.asp?z=y&EAN=640424404024&itm=1) and [Chris Isaak Christmas](http://www.amazon.com/Chris-Isaak-Christmas/dp/B000A2GDRW/sr=1-2/qid=1165882948/ref=pd_bbs_sr_2/103-5500829-3885431?ie=UTF8&s=music). We got greedy, what can I say?)
