You are here

a little curacao, anyone?

For those of you who have heard me muttering about my 'weird fucking dream' *(sorry if I offend; I find that I've been using a lot more profanity since the election.)*, skip to the next paragraph.

For those of you who haven't, I had the WEIRDEST, FUCKING DREAM two nights ago. I dreamed that I was an...acolyte, for lack of a better word, to a enormous, Venus-of-Willandorf-type Hawaiian priestess/goddess woman with long black hair who was BLUE!!! I'm talking Krishna blue (to quote Michelle), Smurf blue, almost cornflower blue here folks. We were naked, on the beach, and it was my job to accompany her by swimming with her out of the cove in which we were, past some rocks on the right side upon which the ocean was breaking (doncha love the lack of dangling prepositions?) and out to the sea where an ocean liner was waiting. A large claw-type thingie (like you see in the arcade games where one tries to grab a toy or stuffed animal or something) came down to scoop up the priestess/goddess and took her up to the ship to do some kind of ritual whilst I waited, treading water in the ocean. Once finished, we swam back. At no time was I anxious; the sea was fine and there was no effort in the swim. On the way out, I was saying to ?someone?---not the goddess---that all we had to do was swim around the rocks and then we'd get to the ship. I don't remember getting back to the shore---think I woke up before then.

Before we begin the dream analysis, I should tell you that
1) I had gone to bed at 8:00 with a horrible headache, and
2) I had started taking this adrenal support supplement last Friday.

Even considering these mitigating factors, this dream has stayed with me (much to everyone's annoyance, I'm sure) more than most. And the key thing that I keep coming back to is "blue Hawaiian". Now, I've never had one of these in all my life, and they only sound moderately tempting; I'd probably prefer a pina colada. Although the idea of blue liqueur is somewhat intriguing to me. *(Didja ever notice that there are no true, crayon blue foods in nature? But I digress...)* The only other reference I have is the Elvis movie, ["Blue Hawaii"](http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/6305837708/qid=1100148338/sr=1-1/ref=sr_1_1/102-0552380-6977726?v=glance&s=dvd) of which I remember nothing but the soundtrack, since it was one of my mom's favorites.

My slight knowledge of the subconscious and hypnosis seems to remember that the subconscious is literal, which is why I dredged these references up, but they do nothing for me, unless the movie and the goddess are connected into the eternal mother figure. But that doesn't really ring, either. So I called Dee, because she loves me enough to listen to my blethering about ME, ME, ME! (Thank you, dear) She sensibly decided to get out her dream book and see if we could find some definitions. Now I have a dream dictionary, but it's somewhere in the boxes that we moved in the basement for the waterproofing, and I've just been too lazy to dig it up. Dee was unable to find hers, either, probably because her teenager has commandeered it. So while she was searching, I got online to see what could be found. (Sometimes one just needs a little company and support to DO something, rather than talk about it.) Here's what we found for [blue](http://www.swoon.com/run/DreamDiary/Search?query=blue&x=9&y=1), [Hawaiian](http://www.swoon.com/run/DreamDiary/Search?query=hawaiian&x=14&y=2), [priestess](http://www.swoon.com/run/DreamDiary/Search?query=priestess&x=14&y=1), [goddess](http://www.swoon.com/run/DreamDiary/Search?query=goddess&x=21&y=2), [swim](http://www.swoon.com/run/DreamDiary/Dream?dreamID=6366), [ocean](http://www.swoon.com/run/DreamDiary/Dream?dreamID=5577) and [accompany](http://www.swoon.com/run/DreamDiary/Dream?dreamID=3378).

Dee decided that this meant that I"ll be getting pregnant this month. (Hear that, babe? Can you handle the pressure?) ;) I figured that it just didn't matter, 'cause it was all good. Or maybe that the adrenal support is working, who knows? But it was worth drinking another [Atlantic Brewing Company Bar Harbor Blueberry Ale](http://www.atlanticbrewing.com/beer.html) while I typed this up and a) ignored the laundry, b) did not mop the basement so we could go to [Cat Welfare](http://www.catwelfareohio.com/) and get two cats, c) let the dishes sit in the sink or d) go to bed at a decent hour so I could be a bright, happy mama tomorrow.

Do you think that I'll have less other-website-links *(I'm sure that there's a name for them, but I have no idea what it is and Pat is asleep)* once I get a digital camera? And in semi-related news, I got the picture from Hallowe'en developed...and last year's as well. I am a bad mama. Will get them in as soon as I can nag Pat enough for him to scan them in. (No, I don't want to learn to work the scanner.) Since this is added to his already considerable list of household repairs, it may take awhile, or great diplomacy, or...something else. (Hey, even if I said "fuck", this is a family-friendly blog---except for Republicans and most conservative christians.) You'll just have to use your imaginations. Sweet dreams, all.

Hi Beautiful...well I find the dream very easy to interpret. Given the political environment and your desire to move your children out of it...I would suggest the Ocean Goddess is beckoning you to travel to one of here islands. Of course the obvious interpretation is Hawaii but I tend to favour a slightly bigger island in the South Pacific where I reside!!! ;-) Love ya!!

Hey darlin"! was just bringing up this blog entry to show Dee this arvo *(is that still aussie slang?)* and was saying "Wonder if Scott has been reading the blog? Haven't seen anythi-- when up your comment came.

As for moving to Oz, we discounted it after all you had to go through. Thought we'd have to get divorced and marry citizens to get in. (And I hear that you're gonna marry Dee...) ;)

But we'd consider it if there was a job for Pat. The logistics would be difficult---promised Gi we wouldn't take her anyplace that she hadn't visited first. And right now she's finally wrapped her head around the Canada idea since they share most of the same holidays as here. Does one trick-or-treat in Oz?

You did not wake up. You were ritually drowned, like the slaves/acolytes of Nerthus. FYI.

Oops. Wrong religion. All I have to say is that the heathen afterlife sucks. Right now it's more like ["Huis Clos"](http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/2070368076/qid=1100443815/sr=2-1/ref=pd_ka_b_2_1/102-0552380-6977726). And I should confess that I had to google [Nerthus.](http://www.timelessmyths.com/norse/teutonic.html#Nerthus) See Jane? Blogs *can* be educational and worth the time! :D
